Meet Niall

Niall is an independent entrepreneur, investor and technologist. With over 30 years of experience in innovation and future thinking, Niall has built pioneering businesses in internet infrastructure, the mobile internet, web services and the internet of physical things in Europe, the US and Africa.

A World Economic Forum Global Innovator, Niall is a FastCompany world changing ideas award winner. Niall is co-founder & managing partner of Morphosis, a climate adaptation investment business. He chairs the investment committee of European deeptech investor Erom, the board of hyperscale compute software company YellowDog, and is a senior advisor to blockchain platform IOTA. Niall was founder & CEO of EVRYTHNG (acquired by Digimarc), co-founded pan-European WiFi network The Cloud (acquired by BSkyB), and co-founded The Digital Thinking Network. He is an investor and strategic advisor to businesses involved in ecommerce logistics, space technology, on-demand manufacturing, vertical farming, and impact reporting analytics.

Niall has presented around the world, including at TED and at the World Economic Forum in Davos. His patents and inventions include originating the upgrade to global barcode standard giving every product a web address, standardised by GS1. A computer scientist by training, Niall was born in Ireland and grew-up in South Africa. He is a passionate mountaineer, and a member of the Explorers Club.
